Yesterday I discovered one of our patio doors is upside down and inside out. Attempting to diagnose the issue, I have examined the door multiple times in the last few weeks but only had a flash of insight into the problem yesterday. These kinds of moments make me question wisdom - is the satisfaction of finding answers through contemplation and the fullness of time worth it? The question now becomes, is the door hung this way for a reason? I expect results from my N of 1 case series on the Weinstein patio door reversal surgery by Monday. We shall see if a patio door expert may have been the better door doctor choice.

Thanks to a loyal reader, I found that John Burn-Murdoch (the data visualization guy) has been writing more in the last few days. His data visualizations on the impact of the vaccines are great.

Chris Hayes (of MSNBC) spawned an informative thread on why other countries cannot take advantage of Moderna's open patent policy. It is a fascinating and meandering conversation about resource allocation, biomedical capacity, politics, and logistics.

STAT News published the most comprehensive discussion I have found (to date) on the interplay of vaccine mandates, the COVID vaccines, and the emergency use authorization (EUA).

Target is offering coupons for in-store vaccination. West Virginia is giving savings bonds to young adults who vaccinate. Maryland is offering a $100 bonus to state employees for vaccination. New Jersey is giving out beer‽

I found the collection through an article and link to The Perversity of Things, a book about inventor and author Hugo Gernsback's work. The prime example of his work is his 1925 Isolator helmet -solving the eternal problem of minimizing distractions. It is not too late for mass production.
